Co-Pilot Studios is the culmination of years of Industrial Design experience, invention, innovation and a passion to get hands dirty making things. It is the umbrella under which a diverse range of new projects can be introduced to the world.
CoPilot Studios was founded by James McDonald as a catch-all to facilitate various projects and innovations. Our goal is to produce projects that are worth making. Sustainability and social responsibility are key aspects of every project we do.
A major part of CoPilot is our Industrial Design consulting which we do through our first branch CoPilot ID. We are also excited to announce that we are innovating our own in-house products. Keep an eye on our blog and other social media to see what's coming up next!
Above: The original CoPilot, Smokey, was an inspiration and the best friend a guy could ask for. He went with me everywhere, including being JDi's first in-house fuzz-therapy practitioner. Sadly he passed away in 2010, but only after living a long adventure-filled 14 years, not bad for a 100lb German Shepherd!

We are Vancouver based, but believe that innovation comes with us wherever we go. Much of our work is done at home in Sea Level Studio (Troika) as well as at the Vancouver Community Laboratory (Co-Lab) a cool, community based workshop.
